This role is focused on protecting Pidilite’s brand equity by identifying and eliminating counterfeit and lookalike products from the market. The candidate will be responsible for detecting investigating and executing legal actions against copycat operators—ranging from manufacturers to distributors—while building proactive anti-counterfeiting strategies in close collaboration with internal teams law enforcement and government authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Detection & Intelligence Gathering
Identify counterfeit and copycat products across markets both offline and online.
Track packaging units manufacturing setups wholesalers and importers involved in counterfeit activities.
Build and maintain a local intelligence network to gather ground-level information.
Investigation & Enforcement
Coordinate with legal teams to prepare for on-ground actions.
Work with law enforcement (Police Customs etc.) to initiate and participate in raids.
Be present during raids to authenticate products and oversee seizure of materials.
Ensure all actions follow proper legal protocols for evidence and confiscation.
Legal Action & Documentation
Liaise with internal and external legal counsel to initiate criminal or civil actions against offenders.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of incidents raids and follow-ups for legal and reporting purposes.
Government & Regulatory Liaison
Engage with government bodies such as Customs Police and local authorities to drive enforcement.
Build long-term relationships to support faster actions in future cases.
Anti-Counterfeit Strategy
Develop and recommend proactive anti-counterfeiting strategies in consultation with leadership.
Stay updated on new trends in counterfeit activities and propose preventive mechanisms.
Product Authentication
Verify and authenticate suspect products with the support of seniors and technical teams.
Training & Awareness
Conduct regular sessions for the sales team and trade partners to help them identify and report counterfeit products.
Support brand protection awareness internally and externally.
Education: Graduate in any discipline. A background in law criminology enforcement or investigation is a plus.
Experience:
7-10 years in brand protection legal enforcement compliance or anti-counterfeiting roles.
Experience in FMCG chemicals or consumer goods sectors preferred.
Prior exposure to police/customs raids is desirable.
