Reports To: Associate Superintendent
Position Purpose: To assist the public and administrative staff with the operation of the Adminstirative Office.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
2-5 years of secretarial experience including bookkeeping and accounting
Skilled in the operation of computers and standard office software
Knowledge/ability/skills:
Must have basic bookkeeping and accounting skills
Knowledge of office management
Skilled in interpersonal communication and problem solving
Skilled in grammar spelling and composition of office correspondence
Ability to operate office machines i.e. copy machine calculator etc.
Preferable to have experience in creating documents by using MS Word and Google Docs and in creating Excel spreadsheets.
Position Responsibilities:
- Handling all incoming outgoing mail packages and deliveries
- Supports special projects from communications HR finance etc.
- Provides administrative support including events in the building
- Maintain visitor log check-in procedures and security protocols
- Provide the point of contact with patrons in a positive manner
- Manage a multi-line phone system; screen direct and respond to calls quickly
- Performs varied related office duties
Physical/Emotional Requirements: (The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.) Speaking hearing visual mobility dexterity consistency of temperament multi-tasking stamina for stressful situations. Fast-paced environment; some lifting; sitting/standing/walking at will. Sitting for long periods of time.
Terms of Employment: 12 month; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Support Service Personnel
