PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 24600 - 34600 p.a plus London Weighting depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Working within a central Planning and Delivery team youll be responsible for the work schedules of Media Operations Operational and Craft staff. Our Operational staff work across a wide range of live and pre-recorded content and you may be working to tight deadlines in a 24/7/365 environment adapting to last minute changes and making sure that the appropriate staff are allocated to the required operational environment at the right time. We work as a team and support each other sharing knowledge and experience to ensure work is managed effectively across Planning and Delivery and BBC Media Operations as a whole.

BBC MediaOperations is at the heart of teams delivering incredible content across all BBC platforms for all audiences. Comprising around nine hundred people it manages the craft and production operations for the BBCs news radio and some sport services across London Salford and Birmingham - capturing editing and producing our output 24x7 for TV radio and digital platforms. The Planning and Delivery team is central to managing the operational staffing and facilities that go into making some amazing and important content for our audiences. Everything from Royal events to Sports tournaments and Radio Drama BBC Music Roadshows we have it covered.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
You will be Front of House and the point of contact for Operational teams Management teams and other stakeholders such as Editorial teams..
You will plan and manage the work schedule of the Operational team/s in accordance with their contracted hours and skills. You will be responsible for ensuring the operational workload is met by suitably skilled staff whilst the BBC Working policies and Teams and Conditions in a consistent manner and cost efficient manner.
You will work as part of the wider Planning and Delivery team to advise on additional bookings requests for adhoc bookings breaking News and/or future events and other staffing and resourcing queries.
Following training you will be proficient in business systems and scheduling tools such as Allocate/ScheduALL Teampay and other Freelancer bookings and systems to manage and report on sickness leave and other business and financial transactions.
As part of the Planning and Delivery wider team you will collaborate with other managers and stake holders to plan staffing and resourcing across the craft and operational teams to share skills and use capacity in the most effective way.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Evidence of ability to interpret and understand complex information so as to be able to deliver it in an accessible way to a range of people.
Great organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail
Demonstrable experience of independent working in an admin role with good outcomes.
Ability to work flexibly as a team member and to manage an unpredictable workload in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrable problem solving with a curious and proactive mindset. Ideally with experience of adapting to new workflows and comfortable learning new systems and business processes.
DESIRED:
Experience working as a staff scheduler.
Experience of scheduling processes and/or systems.
Knowledge of working time policies and how they are applied.
Broadcast/Media environment experience.
