There is one (1) position open; however the list established may also be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Both internal and external applicants will be considered. Applicants must be available to work all shifts (day swing and graveyard) 7 days a week - including holidays. To be considered for this position applicants must indicate they are available for day swing and night shifts (all three) and must check the appropriate boxes under availability on the RTAA online application. Shift assignments are generally determined by seniority using a Shift Bid System.
At the RTAA the Airfield Maintenance Division is a key member of the Facilities and Maintenance Department. Airfield Equipment Mechanic Technician IVs are primarily responsible for performing a variety of skilled journey-level diagnosis repairs and service to gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles heavy and light airfield maintenance equipment construction equipment and other power-driven equipment. The Airfield Equipment Mechanic Technician IV classification exists to maintain diagnose and repair RTAA vehicles and Airfield maintenance equipment requiring a high degree of technical ability. Work is normally supervised and inspected by an Airfield Supervisor while in progress and upon completion.
The nature of the work requires strong electrical and hydraulic knowledge plus experience reading and understanding schematics; and offers a wide variety of equipment a unique environment and the chance to learn and develop new skills with an organization that will help support you in the pursuit of your career aspirations.
Key Accountabilities:
Entry Salary: $27.52 $32.35 per hour based on experience with opportunity for progression and annual step-based increases up to a range maximum of $39.56 per addition employees working any hours between 6pm and 6am receive a shift differential of $2.40 per hour. Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications. This is an hourly and overtime eligible position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent certificate. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Required Experience: Four (4) years of journey level experience in the maintenance and repair of both diesel and gas powered heavy equipment. OR ASE or ASME certification and two (2) years of journey level experience as listed above.
Required Licensing: A valid drivers license is required at the time of application. The selected candidate will be required to obtain a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within in 12-months from the date of hire as a condition of continuing employment. Incumbents must obtain an RTAA ramp license within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Incumbents must obtain a commercial (CDL) drivers license within six (6) months of employment.

Go ahead and submit a resume if youd like. Its not required but know that it is supplemental.
Make sure you clearly state how you meet the minimum qualifications listed on the job announcement.
Please provide at least five years of employment history and dates with each employer.
If you had more than one position with the same employer list each position separately along with the time or dates you were in each position.
Explain any gaps of employment of 6 months or more in the work history section. To do this just add a New Position and write Unemployed for the Company and what was occurring under the Title (e.g. unemployed student etc.) and list dates.
