Position Summary:
Reports to the deputy warden of programs. Directly supervises the case managers in charge of re-entry and transition. Directly supervises the programmatic functions of case managers and unit managers. Responsible for maintaining a case load in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) directives. Gadsden Correctional Facility is a gender responsive trauma informed female facility. Your responsibilities will include the application of gender responsive and trauma informed care and practices while working with female offenders.
Essential Functions:
1. Supervise the programmatic functions of the case management and unit management staff to ensure programs are gender responsive evidence based or have been approved by the programs deputy warden.
2. Recommend & conduct staff training on a regular basis to develop maintain and improve proficiency in programs and recent trends.
3. Foster collaborative relationships with all departments.
4. Utilize assessment tools to ensure inmates are placed in programs based on risk factors criminogenic needs and state requirements.
5. Conduct random file reviews to ensure classes are populated with inmates meeting established criteria.
6. Provide continuous educational vocational personal and social adjustment counseling on an individual and group basis. May recommend necessary program modifications throughout each inmates assigned stay.
7. Facilitate access to the latest research and statistical data relative to gender responsive programs.
8. Will be responsible for approving curriculum and class rosters in accordance with established guidelines.
9. Assist re-entry case manager with establishing community relationships to aid the transition process.
10. Conduct gender responsive pre-service and in-service training.
11. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
12. Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Masters degree in counseling human services or other related field preferred. Bachelors degree required. Two (2) years of related experience required minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience preferred. Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record required unless waived by management.

Must attain and maintain appropriate facility security clearance. Must successfully complete annual in-service
