Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Workforce Coordinator is to develop implement coordinate and monitor programs and initiatives that ensure workforce training and participation targets commitments and outcomes are achieved. This role is based on the Bank Street Park development in Pyrmont. This project forms part of a NSW Government initiative seeking to increase participation of women in construction across all levels of the project. This is a unique opportunity to take a lead role on an industry-leading pilot program promoting gender equity diversity and inclusion on government construction projects while contributing to the landmark Bank Street Park development in Sydney.

The key responsibilities of this eighteen-month fixed-term position include:

  • Building relationships with BESIX Watpac management relevant Government departments subcontractors and relevant external stakeholders to drive workforce training and participation outcomes for the project. 
  • Develop project-based programs and initiatives to:
    • Increase participation and retention rates of women apprentices and trainees on site
    • Increase the uptake of construction workers completing education and training
    • Increase awareness on the importance of supporting marginalised groups to work in the construction sector
    • Provide ISLP (Infrastructure Skills Legacy Program) support and align with specific project targets
  • Coordinate and deliver workforce programs presentations facilitate meetings and engage with various working groups to achieve desired workforce training and participation outcomes tailored to the Bank Street Park  diversity and inclusion goals.
  • Collaborate with managers supervisors employees and subcontractors to assess current training gaps and identify areas of improvement.
  • Prepare reports for management on training completion compliance status and ongoing needs.

Qualifications :

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Understanding of the NSW Government training policies training services NSW guidelines including Infrastructure Skills Legacy Program
  • Training administration gained in a medium to large organisation - ideally in the construction and/or civil environment.
  • Ability to work with subject matter experts and/or business stakeholders to lead the development of practical and engaging training programs.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage motivate and train diverse teams and build effective relationships across all levels of the business with a particularly strong external customer focus.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and training management software.
  • Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation and industry compliance standards.
