Lincoln Public Schools is seeking a Payroll & General Fund Accountant (Confidential) to join their Business Office team. FUNCTION:To assist the School Business Administrator with the financial accounting for the payroll day to day operations and related accounting projects/reporting. REPORTS TO:School Business Administrator RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: accurate timely and confidential reporting for federal state and local agencies in accordance with requirements including but not limited to Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Reimbursements Medicaid Reimbursements Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA) reporting grant reporting workers compensation audit and all others required by the payroll to be sure all salaries have been charged to proper as necessary with payroll functions and serve as the backup to the Payroll Technician for payroll processing to ensure uninterrupted payroll operations. monthly payroll and benefits variance and file quarterly 941 state withholding and federal withholding reports. payroll reports including monthly quarterly and year-end summaries for School Business Administrator auditors and regulatory payroll system updates configurations and and post journal entries as support to employees regarding payroll questions including serving as a backup contact when the Payroll Technician is unavailable. with audit process and provide outside auditing firm with documentation and analyses in response to request for financial information. revenue and expense activity to ensure proper set up and use of account codes to comply with the state mandated Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA). School Business Administrator with budget development and preparation as various statistical reports as directed by the School Business Administrator as needed. employees with inquiries and guidance regarding local and state pension plans. as primary liaison between the Town of Lincoln pension administrators for information sharing and assistance to the Human Resources Department and Payroll Technician with annual IRS data submissions including but not limited to 1095 filings. closely with the Human Resources Department to ensure accuracy and reconciliation related to compensation benefits and with procedural and process changes including training of applicable related duties as may be assigned by the School Business Administrator and/or their designee. This is a twelve (12) month non-union exempt position. Salary benefits and hours of work per employee agreement.
