Description
As a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - Level I you will be responsible for performing operational and safety testing maintenance and repairs on equipment used in patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance actions include but are not limited to technical inspections repair calibrations/PMCS and overhaul of medical equipment.
You will be expected to adhere to strict maintenance schedules and ensure compliance metrics are met on a consistent basis.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work alongside clinical staff and maintain professional rapport in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Ability to speak read write and understand the English language.
Familiarity with the Biomedical field including its concepts practices and procedures
Travel
Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%.
Qualifications
Must possess 1 year of experience with at least 1 year in a clinical setting.
Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States.
Must have a valid Drivers License.
As a minimum BMETs shall be graduates of the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Equipment Repairers Course.
Certified through the International Certification Commission (CBET) or have at least earned an associate degree(AAS) in Medical Equipment Technology.
Candidates are required to pass a background check and possess the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and acquire a CACard.
Use of authorized Army Automated Systems including but not limited to:
o Defense Medical Logistics Shared Standard Support (DMLSS)
o Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced (SAMS-E)
o Theatre Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS)
o Global Combat Support System (GCSS)
o other systems specifically authorized by the USAMMA M3D.
Salary
$ 31.25 -$ 33.17 per hour
$ 65000.00-$69000.00 Annualized
Work Environment
This role operates in a healthcare environment where medical equipment plays a critical role in patient care. The technician will work closely with clinical staff and other technicians providing advanced technical expertise in equipment management.
Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. push/pull equipment and perform tasks such as kneeling standing bending and reaching while conducting maintenance and repairs.
