ADMINISTRATION TE WHAKARITENGA
Te Rōpū Māori (TRM) represents all tauira Māori alongside the Otago University Students Association. They are the political and advocacy body for tauira Māori on campus and provide cultural and social support organising social and sporting events throughout the year.
The Role Te Mahi
Drawing on your understanding of te ao Māoriincluding te reo Māori and tikangayoull contribute meaningfully to the TRM Departments work partnering with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to support shared goals. This role supports the Tumuaki and Te Rōpū Māori by managing queries and communications including oversight of the student association mailbox. It involves organising meetings and providing administrative support to the Te Rito Executive Team maintaining accurate financial records taking meeting minutes minute record keeping and assisting with event coordination.
Your skills and experience Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
Ideally youll bring experience from a Māori-focused role along with proven cultural competency and the ability to foster strong respectful relationships within the Māori community. Working towards or holding Te Reo Māori certification would also be valuable. Importantly you will be a proactive customer focused person with excellent administration organisation and time management skills. Other key skills required are:
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to adapt and navigate new systems.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate team needs.
An ongoing commitment to positive outcomes for our students and staff.
Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Pasifika values.

This is a permanent part time (18.75 hours per week) position located in Ōtepoti Dunedin.
The appointments range for this role is $63508 to $68185 Top of Range $73640 pro-rated for part time hours.
