Job Summary
The Accounting Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records managing daily accounting activities and supporting business decisions through timely financial reporting. This hourly paid role will work closely with operations veterinarians and management to ensure strong financial controls and effective tracking of company performance. Were looking for someone with a great attitude whos motivated dependable and ready to jump in wherever needed.
The Accounting Team is supervised by the Finance Director and works from policies and general objectives approved by the management of Suidae Health & Production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger entries
- Reconcile bank accounts credit cards and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
- Assist in improving accounting processes and implementing internal controls
- Communicate effectively with managers veterinarians and farm staff to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support tax preparation and internal audits as necessary
- Work closely with all areas of the company to understand operations and support decision-making
Qualifications
- Associate degree or bachelors degree is required. Preferred field of degree is Accounting; bachelors degree is also preferred.
- 2 years of accounting experience; agriculture or veterinary industry experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Microsoft Office including Outlook Word and Excel is required. Previous experience in QuickBooks and/or NetSuite is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity is required.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and teamwork skills are required.
- You must be proactive a problem-solver and someone who takes ownership of their work.
- You must have a positive and team-oriented attitude who contributes to a supportive work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 20 pounds occasionally is required.
- Working environment is that of a typical cubical office environment with background noise.
