Work with colleagues in the Department of Surgery and throughout the Medical School and University to develop productive research relationships which result in national presentations and publications

Instruct fellows in our ACGME-approved traditional cardiothoracic training program.
Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members

The Division proudly provides excellent clinical care across the spectrum of adult and pediatriccardiovascularand thoracicdisease. The three sections of the Division include Adult Cardiac Surgery Congenital Heart Surgery and General Thoracic Surgery.
The Thoracic Surgery section providesadvancedsurgicalcarefora largeregionalcatchment areathat includes urban and rural populations in Wisconsin Northern Illinois and the surrounding regions.Our thoracic oncology practice is part of an NCCN-designated cancer center with robust lung mediastinal and esophageal cancer volumes.The UW Health Lung Transplant Program is a modern clinically sophisticatedprogramwith consistent growth andoutstanding outcomesover the last 7 years.
Education within the Division includes a commitment to medical students and General Surgery residents and an ACGME-approved traditional three-year Cardiothoracic residency. The Division also offers a non-accredited fellowship in Thoracic Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support.

Candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.
Board certification or board eligibility from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery is required by the appointment start date.
For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.
