Key Roles and Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and teach a rigorous standardsaligned Geometry curriculum (including Honors and advanced pathways) that meets Floridas B.E.S.T. Standards and MiamiDade advanced program expectations.
- Develop unit plans that integrate mathematical reasoning geometric proofs coordinate geometry trigonometry applications and transformational geometry.
- Incorporate technology-rich instruction using graphing software dynamic geometry platforms (e.g. GeoGebra) CAD tools and design challenges.
- Implement inquirydriven pedagogy project-based learning and realworld applications (architecture robotics engineering design).
Assessment & Data
- Develop assessments and performance tasks aligned to state benchmarks and advanced programs; use data to provide targeted support and track mastery.
- Prepare students for state exams collegereadiness benchmarks and advanced program entry points (AP AICE IB Dual Enrollment).
Advanced Programs & Pathways
- Collaborate with the mathematics department to ensure vertical alignment with Algebra I Algebra II and higher-level math courses including AP AICE IB and Dual Enrollment.
- Provide students with access to advanced mathematical thinking ensuring equitable pathways to AP Calculus AP Statistics AICE and IB courses.
CTE Integration
- Embed CTE competencies (e.g. CAD software use construction design principles engineering applications) in course projects.
- Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications (e.g. OSHA10 CAD fundamentals pre-engineering certifications).
- Complete required CTE coursework and state examinations within the prescribed timeline (see Qualifications) and maintain all related credentials.
Culture & Family Partnership
- Model and uphold KIPP Miamis Heartbeat Principles in all interactions; create an inclusive purposeful classroom culture with high expectations and joy.
- Partner with families through transparent progress reporting studentled conferences and proactive communication.

Qualifications :
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree is required
- A degree in Mathematics Mathematics Education Engineering Architecture or related field is preferred.
- At least two (2) years of fulltime high school teaching experience in mathematics (required).
- Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous instruction and achieve measurable student growth in teaching Geometry Geometry Honors Advanced Geometry and preparing students for AP AICE IB or Dual Enrollment math pathways.
- Valid Florida Educator Certificate (or eligibility) in Mathematics (612). (Candidates pursuing reciprocity or temporary certification must be eligible under Florida statutes.)
- Strong data literacy; proficiency with instructional technology (graphing calculators GeoGebra Google Workspace LMS assessment platforms).
- Commitment to complete required CTE coursework and pass state CTE examinations relevant to assigned pathways within the first 24 months of employment (tuition/fees may be eligible for reimbursement per KIPP Miami policy).
- Strong proficiency with instructional technology and datadriven decisionmaking.
- Satisfactory background check and fingerprint clearance.
- Experience integrating CTE content and preparing students for industry certifications.
