Prudential (UK) in partnership with the HCL group plans to set-up a standalone Indian health insurance company to address the growing healthcare needs of the Indian consumer.

This joint venture will combine Prudentials global expertise in insurance and financial services with HCL Groups experience in technology and healthcare solutions.

Prudential with its longstanding presence in India already operates two leading businesses in life insurance and asset management with the ICICI Group. Prudential was also the proud sponsor of the 1983 Cricket World Cup Indias first World Cup Victory!

Prudential Health India is a Zero to One team undertaking a no-legacy greenfield health insurance deployment in India building journeys that truly empathize with the customer and offer a differentiated experience.

Contracts Manager

*Key Responsibilities*

- Draft negotiate and manage procurement contracts including IT service agreements software licenses vendor contracts and NDAs to support PHIs technology and operational goals.

- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks including IRDAI guidelines and data protection laws.

- Develop and maintain standardized templates and tools for procurement contracts to drive efficiency and consistency.

- Provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders identifying and mitigating risks while aligning with PHIs business objectives.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology procurement and compliance to address legal and operational needs effectively.

Minimum Qualification:

• JD LL.B. or equivalent degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Capability to draft contracts in plain English is a must.
• A minimum of 5 years of in-house experience in procurement contracts particularly in technology companies or a mix of in-house and law firms.
• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex high-value agreements with attention to detail and legal compliance.
• Superior legal skills and business judgement in areas of responsibility.

Preferred qualities:

• Working knowledge of insurance sector consumer protection contracts and data protection laws in a technology-driven environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as IRDAI and industry best practices in contract lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with contract management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative and startup-like environment.
