SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS

ACADEMY OF MUSIC

The Academy of Music launched a new multi-year transformational education project to provide access to the larger community in Hong Kong. The scope of the project covers a wide range of opportunities for the under-privileged gifted students parents engagement community music industry-higher education collaboration and curriculum development such as the use of EdTech art-tech interdisciplinary learning cross-cultural studies and performance and pedagogical research. A key component of the project includes a new 5-6 year music programme that includes an in-school/after-school instrumental ensemble-based music training for primary school students.

The Academy is inviting applications for the following post to focus on the administrative aspect of this transformative project:

Assistant Officer (Special Projects) ()

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project timeline track key milestones and support the successful implementation of project plans;
  • Serve as a key point of contact for all stakeholders managing daily communications scheduling meetings and ensuring efficient information flow;
  • Manage the logistical planning and execution of events and workshops as well as prepare project documentation to support project goal; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary qualification with some years of relevant experience;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin);
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of numerical accuracy;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle data collection and work independently with high level of self-motivation and accountability;
  • Good organisational skills with experience in logistical planning for events workshops or conferences.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint; and
  • Preference will be given to candidate with:

a. Knowledge and experience in instrumental music teaching;

b. Skills in Adobe programmes or other digital platforms;

c. Experience in project development and management

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one to two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
