Tubman is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Intern & Volunteer Program Coordinator to join a dynamic and collaborative team to support the agencys services through bringing on quality volunteers and interns that broaden Tubmans capacity to serve. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with keen organizational and critical-thinking abilities.
This position is hybrid and based at Tubman Chrysalis Center in south Minneapolis with regular travel to other locations. Work hours are primarily weekdays with occasional evenings and weekends.

Role Responsibilities
- Promptly respond to inquiries from potential volunteers and interns. This includes phone screenings and face-to-face interviews to ensure meaningful work for volunteers and interns while considering the best match between the needs of the agency with the skills qualifications and interests of each applicant.
- Communicate and coordinate with various departments and staff to continually assess the agency-wide needs for volunteers and interns to enhance program service delivery.
- Assist in developing and implementing creative and effective strategies to recruit diverse volunteers and interns with the skills and attributes needed to carry out Tubmans mission.
- Champion Tubmans commitment to an inclusive and diverse intern and volunteer pool that reflects our communities and those we serve.
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating the Orientation and Training Series for volunteers and interns (3 times per year; evenings/weekends required).
- Assist in planning and coordinating recognition and appreciation activities/events.
- Ensure that each volunteer and intern file is complete and accurate including background checks references paperwork and data entry.
Job Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in intern or volunteer coordinating human services project coordination or a related field.
- Associate or bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to speak listen and write in a clear thorough and timely manner.
- Commitment to inclusion and diversity with demonstrated experience working with diverse communities.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills including the ability to set priorities manage time effectively track details assess problems and generate solutions.
- Experience in facilitation and training with small and large groups.
- Excellent computer skills with Raisers Edge or other database experience and proficiency in Microsoft 365 products preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The target pay rate for this position is $23.50 per hour.
