Strait Link is seeking a passionate Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Business Partner to join our team for a 14-month maternity leave contract.
In this pivotal role youll work closely with operational leaders and frontline teams to embed proactive risk management strengthen safety leadership and ensure the effective implementation of our WHS Management System. Youll lead investigations coach teams and drive initiatives that improve safety performance and foster a just culture of accountability.
From safety leadership to system governance youll play a key part in ensuring Strait Link continues to meet and exceed its HSE commitments across all operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with leaders to deliver practical HSE advice and promote a proactive safety culture
Coach and mentor teams to improve safety behaviours systems and leadership capability
Conduct and support incident investigations hazard management and post-incident learning
Facilitate and maintain risk assessments JSAs and critical risk controls
Develop review and maintain WHS documentation including SWMS procedures and risk registers
Deliver training and participate in audits to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
Prepare WHSE reports and analytics to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities
Liaise with contractors and ensure compliance with Strait Links safety requirements
Support HSE strategy implementation and assist with audit governance and assurance programs
Skills And ExperiencesWhat were looking for
Youre an experienced HSE professional who thrives on partnering with people solving problems and creating safer ways of working. You bring practical know-how strong communication skills and the confidence to influence and support leaders at all levels.
To succeed in this role youll have:
At least 3 years experience in a similar HSE or WHS advisory position in a high-risk or multi-disciplinary environment
A Diploma in Work Health & Safety (tertiary qualifications an advantage)
Solid knowledge of WHS legislation risk management and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 systems
ICAM or equivalent incident investigation qualification
A nationally accredited WHS Auditor qualification
Strong influencing coaching and relationship-building skills
Experience analysing and reporting HSE data for insights and improvement
Advanced Microsoft Office and safety reporting system experience
A current drivers licence and flexibility to travel as required
