An established national law firms Washington DC Trademark practice is seeking an experienced Trademark Partner or Counsel to join its busy intellectual property group. The opportunity presents a senior client-facing role offering meaningful responsibility involving U.S. and international trademark matters with a focus on portfolio strategy enforcement and brand counseling.
The Opportunity
The Partner- or Counsel-level attorney will manage sophisticated trademark matters from clearance through enforcement working directly with clients and coordinating with national and international Trademark offices as needed. The role is designed for an attorney who can operate with autonomy while contributing to a collaborative practice.
Core Responsibilities
U.S. trademark prosecution clearance and portfolio management
International trademark filings and coordination through the Madrid Protocol and foreign counsel
Trademark enforcement brand policing and TTAB matters
Post-registration maintenance renewals and dispute support
Oversight of trademark docketing domain name matters and process improvements
Qualifications
510() years of substantive trademark experience in a law firm or comparable environment
Experience handling both U.S. and international trademark portfolios
Excellent legal writing judgment and client-management skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
Admission to practice in the District of Columbia and before the USPTO (a plus)
Portable book of business in the range of $
