Head of Fleet Acquisition

Purpose of the role
The Head of Fleet Acquisition is responsible for the strategic planning financing and contracting of Wizz Airs current and future fleet. The role ensures that aircraft engine and major component acquisitions are aligned with business growth delivered on time and financed under optimal terms. It oversees all related contractual leasing and financial risk management activities ensuring full compliance with obligations and maximising value for the airline.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute aircraft and engine financing strategies to support fleet development plans.
- Negotiate with Airbus OEMs lessors and key suppliers to secure favourable terms.
Contracting & Lease Management
- Lead all purchase lease and major component contracting processes.
- Oversee lease administration including return conditions and compliance.
- Manage RFPs with lessors banks and financial institutions.
Operational & Governance Oversight
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of financing plans and budgets.
- Oversee payment operations for financings and OEM agreements.
People Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing team with clear accountabilities.
- Foster a culture of financial discipline commercial agility and continuous improvement.
Experience
- 10 years of experience in financing roles preferably in aviation or asset-heavy industries.
- Proven expertise in aircraft and engine financing leasing and treasury operations.
Hard skills
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Advanced financial modelling and analysis capabilities (advantage)
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel PowerPoint Word Outlook).
Education
Bachelors or Masters degree preferably in Economics Finance or a Technical discipline.
Language
Fluent verbal and written proficiency in English
