TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) month contract (245 days) Plus Benefits Package NOTE: Precise placement on the salary schedule will be determined based on experience. Salary Range: $58251 $101212.

JOB GOAL:

The Assistant Director of Safety & Security is responsible for assisting the Director in the overall oversight and coordination of security of Little Rock School District to ensure that the students and staff have safe and secure facilities. Other essential duties and responsibilities are listed below. Additional duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors Degree in Security Management Law Enforcement Emergency Management or other equivalent training and experience suitable to the Assistant Director of Security required. Master degree preferred
  2. At least fifteen (15) years of law enforcement experience with a minimum 6 years in a supervisory role can be substituted for required education.
  3. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a security environment preferably in education.
  4. Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  5. Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  6. Ability in effective written and oral communications computational skills organizational skills budgeting and problem-solving related to safety and security operations.

  1. Responsible for the development and direction of one or more safety and/or security programs. May function for the Director in his/her absence as required.
  2. Oversees the patrol division department investigative division and training division.
  3. Prepares detailed written reports as may be required.
  4. Oversees vehicle maintenance programs of the security fleet.
  5. Respond to schools/sites 24/7 as essential personnel to provide emergency response and crisis management and/or in the event of weather or environmental incident and/or school/facility/district closure.
  6. Collaborate with other agencies through networking and teamwork using resources within the District the Community and Law Enforcement.
  7. Gather intelligence information and disseminate it to Safety and Security personnel and District employees.
  8. Implements appropriate safety and security procedures protocols and strategies to support the safety of students and the security of schools.
  9. Develops and recommends policies relating to assigned areas of responsibility.
  10. Assists in ensuring that the goals and objectives for the department and the district are communicated and achieved.
  11. Recommends operating budgetary needs for assigned areas of responsibility.
  12. Coordinates the completion of studies and the preparation of reports.
  13. Assists in the investigation of crimes and other offenses.
  14. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety and Security
