Job Summary

Job Purpose:To contribute and to protect the Companys reputation for integrity by (a)providing legal advice and counseling within assigned area of expertise (b)supporting Lead Expert Counsel the area of expertise.

Job Context & Major challenges:Key challenges in the job include:(a) Expertise Advisory working along with Lead Expert Counsel in the areas of expertise (b)Business Counselling Offering expert legal advice without creating barriers on matters involving Medium to Low risk(c) Partnering Collaborating and influencing business legal teams for better compliance and governance Grasim Businesses with regard to all IP Advisory and Contract matters.

Supporting Actions

Ensuring effective legal risk management (strategic & specialist focus)

Ensuring effective legal risk management for below practice areas:

A. Trademarks & IP

B. Contract Vetting & Legal Support

C. Legal Research & Compliance Support

D. Coordination & Documentation

E. Maintain organized legal records in the IP tool to ensure timely follow-up on pending matters.

Reporting to Lead Expert Counsel

In cooperation withLead Expert Counsel and Lead Legal Business Counsels (where appropriate) and file reports on material legal risks and proceedings by:

Collecting summarizing and updating data
Using IT-Tools and experience in risk evaluation in order to meet the requirements of the regulators Board Management Auditors and to inform on relevant data and risks

Preparing dashboards reports for review of CLO and Business Management

Co-operation with Lead Expert Counsel and Business Lead Counsels

In cooperation with Lead Expert Counsel managing legal proceedings by

Studying the merits of the Case
Assisting in setting up a strategy and analysing the legal situation in light applicable laws

Assist in creating advisories on best Contracts & Risk thereto Contracts check list creating escalation matrix for cross business contracts and Standard formats and Templates to be used across Grasim

Internal knowledge sharing and Training in area of expertise

Providing up-to-date knowledge tool training materials and sessions in order to maximize the benefit the best-in-class legal community.

Managing Outside Counsel in area of expertise

In cooperation with Lead Expert Counsel manage outside counsel bylisting out the optionsclearly instructing themin order to achieve cost efficiency and high value and timely legal advice.
