Mullins Mechanicalis a leader in industrial and large commercial mechanical plumbing HVAC construction projects are often in the industrial and manufacturing environments such as manufacturing facilities automotive plants chemical plants distribution centers warehouses and other large commercial facilities. We are a self-performing specialty contractor specializing in design-build applications HVAC systems plumbing process piping systems boiler and chiller systems equipment installation and rigging plant relocation and maintenance and metal fabrication.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor hot work (welding grinding cutting etc.) to ensure fire safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain fire extinguishers and other fire prevention equipment in readiness.
• Remain alert in assigned area during and after hot work until declared safe.
• Immediately respond to and report unsafe conditions or potential fire hazards.
• Load unload and distribute tools materials and equipment on the jobsite.
• Assist crews with basic construction tasks cleanup and site organization.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment including laydown and staging areas.
• Support installation teams as directed by foremen and superintendents.
• Serve as a safety observer for equipment operators rigging crews and vehicle movements.
• Use clear hand signals radios or verbal communication to guide operators.
• Ensure workers and pedestrians remain clear of moving equipment and vehicles.
• Monitor blind spots and overhead hazards to prevent accidents.
• Physically able to stand for long periods lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying conditions.
• Exposure to noise dust weather and physical hazards typical of construction.
• Use of PPE (hard hat safety glasses gloves high-visibility vest etc.) required at all times.
• Flexibility to work extended hours weekends or shifts based on project needs.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

• 1 years of experience in construction as a Fire Watchman Spotter or similar role
• Valid drivers license
• Knowledge of fire and safety prevention methods where hot work is being carried out
• Previous construction or industrial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic construction safety practices.
