Outsourced Management Accounting Senior Associate
Reports To Supervisor
OMA Supervisors and above within the OMA Team
Summary of Job Function
At LGA our primary focus is on our people. As a Senior Associate in LGAs OMA service line you will be responsible for providing bookkeeping accounting and advisory services to a diverse range of clients both for-profit and not-for-profit across various industries - from startups to mature companies. This position combines performing accounting tasks and leveraging technology with developing strong client relationships.
Essential Job Duties
Records daily accounting activity utilizing technology
Prepares bank and credit card reconciliations using QBO features
Reviews general ledger accounts and performs reconciliations of key accounts
Prepares workpapers to support account balances
Prepares monthly and annual closings including the recording of adjusting journal entries as needed
Prepares payroll journal entries utilizing a working knowledge of payroll processing
Prepares and reviews a Balance Sheet P & L and General Ledger under the accrual basis of accounting in a proficient manner
Gathers data for the preparation of Form 1099s
Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply this knowledge to difficult areas or complex client engagements. Recognizes potential accounting issues and presents possible solutions to the individual responsible for the engagement
Performs technical reviews of financial reports and workpapers
Assists with the training and development of associates
Can effectively perform research with minimal supervision and is able to identify and resolve most issues encountered
Exhibits an in-depth knowledge of new accounting pronouncements and uses this knowledge to identify client needs
Displays proficiency in the CCH Microsoft QuickBooks and other OMA applications and applies this knowledge to create high-quality deliverables; Helps associates to develop new technology skills
Seeks opportunities to learn new technologies and communicates technology solutions to client issues and/or to improve engagement efficiency
Reviews associate research work processes and conclusions to ensure clarity completeness and accuracy
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Taxation or a related field
Masters in Accountancy or Tax or a plan to pursue preferred
CPA EA or QuickBooks Pro Advisor certification or a plan to pursue preferred
2-4 years experience in a related field
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook etc.).
Experience with the CCH Suite of Products (ProSystem fx Tax Engagement Document Portal) is a
plus.
Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is a plus.
Ability to review and troubleshoot OMA software issues and guide junior staff in usage.
Comfortable working in a technology-driven paperless environment.
Strong organizational skills detail oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency and be flexible in tasks and time while managing your
workload with adjustments to your schedule especially during peak workload times in the service
line.
Ability to mentor and train junior team members providing constructive feedback.
Acts as a culture carrier ensuring alignment with the firms vision and values.

This job is performed in an office setting indoors and at times travel to one of the other firm
locations is required.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
