Qualifications / Experience

• Degree in Information Systems or equivalent relevant experience
• Strong experience with coding and scripting (Bash PowerShell etc.)
• Strong experience with Linux distributions (RHEL Ubuntu SLES)
• Strong experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS Azure)
• Strong knowledge of version control systems (GitHub)
• Minimum 5 years IT operations experience
• Minimum 5 years configuration management and automation experience
• Focus on Linux HA Solutions and enterprise infrastructure
• Experience with high-availability system architectures

Essential Skills Requirements

• Strong experience with Unix/Linux operating systems (SUSE)
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash Perl Python)
• Knowledge of High Availability systems including Veritas Infoscale
• System monitoring tools (Nagios or similar) and backup solutions
• Oracle and SAP high-level knowledge and integration
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS DHCP SSH TCP/IP)
• Enterprise system installation configuration and maintenance
• Performance monitoring troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Security patch management and system updates

Advantageous Skills Requirements

• IT certifications (SUSE Veritas Infoscale)
• Knowledge of Agile Working Model methodologies
• Virtualization technologies: VMWare
• Private Cloud solutions implementation
• Windows Server administration
• Monitoring tools: Dynatrace Grafana
• Log management: Splunk
• Containerization: Podman Docker Kubernetes OpenShift
• ITIL and PIC processes (Problem-Incident-Change)
• ServiceNow tool and processes
• Red Hat Satellite experience
• Linux certifications: RHCSA
• Ansible certification: RHCE (ex294/ex407)

Role Requirements

• Install configure and maintain Unix/Linux servers ensuring optimal performance and uptime
• Monitor system performance troubleshoot complex issues and provide timely solutions
• Apply system updates patches and security fixes as part of routine maintenance
• Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation including procedures and troubleshooting guides
• Support compliance with security standards and company policies
• Deploy manage and operate workloads on AWS and Azure with security controls
• Track and update JIRA user stories ensuring project deadlines are met
• Ensure system stability and adherence to Groups Operations standards
• Maintain quality and up-to-date content of knowledge base for sub-products
• Manage Problem Incident and Change processes for dedicated ITSM services
• Provide standby support and weekend coverage when required
• Keep documentation current across all relevant systems (CMDB Application Instance Wizard Connect IT resolveIT)
• Attend and moderate operational meetings with stakeholders
• Implement automation solutions for routine operational tasks
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
• Additional responsibilities as per AWM Charter or department manager direction
