Core responsibilities
- Prospecting:Researching and identifying new potential clients such as pharmaceutical biotechnology and medical device companies in Japan.
- Lead generation:Conducting outbound activities including cold calling email campaigns and networking to generate and qualify new business opportunities.

Qualifications and skills
- Bilingual proficiency:Fluency in business-level Japanese to communicate effectively with local clients and an excellent command of English for internal collaboration with global teams.
- Cultural knowledge:A deep understanding of Japanese business culture etiquette and communication styles is essential for building rapport and navigating business relationships.
- Industry knowledge:Expertise in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industry is highly preferred. Candidates must quickly learn about PPDs drug discovery development and lifecycle management services.
- Sales and communication skills:Strong verbal and written communication skills for building relationships and presenting information clearly. The role requires being highly motivated and target-driven.
- Experience:Previous experience in sales telemarketing or lead generation is often required particularly for a senior role.
