Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a well-qualified Traffic or ITS Engineer to support a hybrid role in one of many different offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest. Responsibilities include:

Support a team of professionals to deliver:

  • Traffic analysis forecasting safety studies traffic simulation and conceptual planning/design.
  • Plan sheets specifications & estimates technical memoranda reports presentations and other project documentation
  • ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process
  • Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects.
  • Actively participate in the teams production of technical deliverables ranging from plans specifications estimates reports memorandums etc.
  • Work with Early in Career staff and help review technical work and project documentation
  • Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget while adhering to AECOM quality standards
  • Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM as well as with external clients and sub-consultants
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred minimum 5 years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as traffic control design traffic studies ITS engineering traffic staging within Agency and DOT standards and projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain PE license in 6 months
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Traffic and Traffic Simulation Software and design platforms.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.
  • Good interpersonal skills good command of the English language both verbally and written the ability to express thoughts clearly good time management skills and a good attitude towards work.
