The Opportunity:
The Project Officer will be part of The George Institutes Injury Program working on two key studies: SWAPYT and SUnny. These are based within the Academic Project Operations (APO) team in Australia supporting research teams by managing the setup conduct and delivery of studies.
The SWAPYT study focuses on improving care for children and youth with trauma with a primary goal of creating and implementing a new clinical guideline for managing splenic injuries in young patients. This will be achieved through focus groups workshops and a mixed-methods implementation study.
The SUnny study is an observational study investigating how pregnant women use seatbelts. It aims to assess seatbelt fit and usage quality by identifying factors that contribute to poor fit and find effective ways to improve seatbelt safety beyond basic education. The study involves observing seatbelt use in a mock vehicle seat 3D scanning physical measurements surveys on attitudes knowledge and comfort levels. This study is conducted at the Royal Randwick Hospital for Women in Sydney.
We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to provide operational support for both studies.
