Controller Construction Industry Mineola NY (Onsite)
$150K$175K base Bonus Full-time Industry: Construction (3 entities)
Our client a long-standing family-owned construction company based in Mineola NY is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead and modernize their accounting function. With decades of success and a strong growth trajectory the company is building a top-tier finance team to support future expansion.
This is a high-impact onsite role working directly with ownership and a fractional CFO. Youll take ownership of the accounting function help streamline financial systems and play a key role in strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting and GL accuracy across all business entities
- Lead job costing processes and financial reporting
- Manage payroll AP/AR and compliance filings
- Spearhead the migration from Sage 300 to Sage Intacct
- Partner with external CPA and internal leadership on strategic finance projects
- Own month-end closings audits and process improvements
What You Bring
- 8 years of accounting experience in construction with at least 23 years as a Controller
- Expertise in job costing Sage 300 and ideally Sage Intacct
- Familiarity with ADP and system integrations
- Strong process orientation and a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
- Stable work history and a collaborative leadership style
Compensation & Benefits
