Vice President Fund I Accounting Controller

THE POSITION:
At STACK the Vice President Fund I Accounting Controller Controller is an essential part of the CFO Organization and is the right hand to the SVP Accounting. You will be responsible for the Fund I monthly close process and production of monthly reporting packages. To be successful you will need to understand the operational accounting technical accounting and financial reporting.
To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent communications skills strong attention to detail be exceptionally organized self-motivated and a master problem-solver. You should be able to thrive in a fast-paced multitasking environment and easily adapt to change and rapid company growth. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for accounting and customer service (external and internal).
Responsibilities include:
  • Lead a team of five professionals and manage the month-end close process ensuring all tasks are completed by the stated deadlines
  • Manage rapid growth and strategic objectives within a strict internal control framework
  • Document implement and evaluate controls
  • Manage the year end audits
  • Analyze and interpret complex accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP
  • Provide mentorship coaching and performance feedback to team members
  • Assist with purchase price accounting acquisition journal entries and the integration of businesses
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments and teams to understand operating results and create efficiencies in accounting processes
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal departments specifically Finance Treasury and Operations teams
  • Identify and implement ideas for process improvement
  • Ad-hoc special projects
THE DETAILS:
  • Location:Denver CO at least 3 days in office
  • Travel:less than 10%
  • Compensation: $245000 to 255000 annual bonus potential

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass comprehensive background screening
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in Accounting required
  • 2 years as a public company controller or assistant controller
  • 10 years working in a public company
  • Minimum 15 years of accounting experience
  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Multi-entity and complex capital structures experience preferred
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office product suite especially Excel
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical problem solving and communications skills
  • Enjoys collaborating and works well cross-functionally with other teams
  • Enjoys mentoring and developing team members
  • Proven success in creating efficiencies in processes and procedures
