Their technology automatically captures interprets and connects time data to business outcomes unlocking profitability operational clarity and client impact at a scale that hasnt existed before. Backed by leading venture firms and founders from iconic technology companies our client is scaling quickly and hiring their first in-house Controller.
This is a hands-on foundational leadership role responsible for owning the entire accounting function establishing audit readiness and building the systems and controls that will support rapid growth.

What Youll Own
Accounting Leadership
- Own all accounting operations: general ledger revenue recognition AP/AR payroll and compliance.
- Lead the monthly quarterly and annual close with discipline accuracy and efficiency.
Audit and amp; Compliance
- Lead and manage the companys first external financial audit and all future audits.
- Maintain compliance with federal state and local reporting requirements.
Financial Reporting
- Deliver accurate timely financial statements and technical accounting memos.
- Partner with FP and amp;A on budgeting forecasting and variance analysis.
Systems Controls and amp; Scale
- Implement and strengthen accounting systems internal controls and scalable workflows.
- Identify opportunities for automation and champion an AI-first accounting function.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with FP and amp;A Legal HR and Operations to streamline financial processes.
- Serve as a trusted partner on accounting policy compliance and strategic financial decisions.
Youll Thrive Here If You Have
Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- 5-10 years of accounting experience including:
- A strong technical foundation (Big 4 or equivalent) and
- Hands-on in-house operating experience at a tech company (B2B SaaS strongly preferred).
- Proven experience leading full-cycle audits end-to-end.
- Comfort being the first dedicated accounting hire and building structure from 0 1.
- Experience in fast-paced scaling startup environments.
Mindset and amp; Skills
- Strong technical accounting skills and deep GAAP knowledge.
- Clear confident communication and executive presence.
- A genuine enthusiasm for AI automation and modern finance tooling - this is a core requirement.
- Ability to move fluidly between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Nice to Have
- Experience at a SaaS or AI-focused company.
- Familiarity with global accounting and compliance considerations.
