Job Description
Reporting to the Centre Director you will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations. Your role will involve food preparation and cooking following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement.
Responsibilities
- Daily Duties include heating food preparing vegetables and starches cutting fruit portioning dishwashing and delivering food to the classrooms.
- Assist the Chef in preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary requirements.
- Ensure proper food storage and disposal maintain temperature logs and comply with all health regulations and best practices.
- Follow proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware after collection from classrooms.
- Uphold the kitchen cleaning schedule including daily weekly and monthly tasks.
- Duties and responsibilities may evolve depending on the daycare centers needs.
What you need
- 12 years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Experience in a daycare environment is an asset.
- Valid drivers license and a clean drivers abstract.
- Strong communication skills.
- A clean criminal record check is required.
- Physical ability to lift push and pull up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday 4:00 am to 12:00 pm
