YOUR EXPERIENCE AND VALUES:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role in a software development environment.

  • Strong technical background in software engineering with expertise in one or more programming languages and frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

  • Solid understanding of delivery principles and methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience with a modern frontend framework ideally React (Vue Angular are good too)

  • Practical experience of NestJS / NodeJS or similar stack

  • Experience with or knowledge of Python

  • Strong knowledge of restful APIs

  • Practical experience of Kubernetes and/or MongoDB

  • Knowledge on LLMs

  • Knowledge on prompt engineering techniques

  • Knowledge on RAG

We will count on you to:

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the engineering team setting clear goals and expectations.

  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers ensuring their professional growth and development.

  • Oversee the planning execution and delivery of engineering projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the projects and provide guidance to the team when needed.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment promoting effective communication and teamwork among team members and cross-functional teams.

  • Allocate resources effectively ensuring that the team has the necessary tools equipment and support to deliver high-quality work.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as product managers and executives to align engineering efforts with business goals and priorities.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impact project timelines quality or budget.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations provide feedback and recognize achievements to motivate and retain top talent.

Eligibility:

  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Associate Director
  • Should have at least On Track or equivalent rating in last appraisal
  • Should not be under any Performance Continuity Plan or had any official Disciplinary action within the last 3 months
  • Should not have applied for any other IJP within Mercer in the last 3 month
