What youll do

We are looking for an experienced Linux & Cloud Administrator to support our multinational team by providing L3/L4 expert support for all Linux OS & pacemaker customer issues.

As a Senior Linux & Cloud Administrator and Pacemaker expert you will be the Last Line of Defense for troubleshooting complex Pacemaker software and Linux OS/ infrastructure issues across all platforms. You will be identifying and resolving architectural and design issues in existing Pacemaker setup developing automation to ensure stability and reliability of the environment to run business-critical systems of our customers. You will contribute to standardizing and simplifying server operations using software tools and automation (DevOps)..

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for ensuring round-the-clock availability of SAP systems operating within SAP ECS.
• Serving as the elevated L3/L4 support for critical production issues.
• Respond troubleshoot and resolve alerts & incidents in the Linux OS or infra layer VMWare/ Azure/ AWS/ GCP/ BareMetal;
• Deploy Configure and Manage Pacemaker based HA clusters across various platforms.
• Fine tune cluster configurations to optimize failover performance resource availability and System resilience.
• Troubleshoot complex Pacemaker software and Linux OS/ infrastructure issues across all platforms.
• Identify and resolve architectural and design issues in existing Pacemaker setup.
• Administer Linux Servers for performance Patching and Troubleshooting.
• Participate in Incident Management troubleshoot service requests resolve downtime extensions.
• Develop and implement Backup/Recovery DR and High Availability strategies for Critical workloads.
• Implement automation solutions to streamline platform operations enhancing efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration documentation and knowledge sharing.
• To take the On Call / On Duty / Weekend task based on shift schedule.
• Apply ITIL incident management processes to ensure timely resolution.

What you bring

EXPERIENCE (ROLE REQUIREMENTS)

• 10 years of related professional experience
• Advanced technical background of Linux based server operating systems (Redhat or SUSE )
• 3 years experience in Linux HA clusters preferably Pacemaker with relevant trainings/ certifications
• Practical experience with OS operation upgrades and security patching
• Demonstrate advanced expertise in Cloud providers such as AWS Azure GCP and expert in any one of them.
• Good understanding of IT security OS hardening
• Experience in Scripting (e.g. Shell Python Go etc.) Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible.
• Ability to create good documentation for junior colleagues to implement technical plans as per customer requirements.
• Fluency in English language and the ability to work in global multi-cultural teams is a key requirement.

SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) organisation run and operate SAPs private cloud offering which are built for customers in various hyperscalers like Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Platform or Amazon web services.

As part of the ECS Delivery Technical Operations the Server Management team is responsible for 24x7 operations of these business-critical SAP systems in the cloud at the maximum efficiency. Team provides stable support for the OS and Infrastructure hosted in the hyperscalers or SAP DC. Proactive support is provided to maintain system availability and ensure smooth operations. Apart from the day to day operations we also have strategic projects for newer technologies and enhancements.
