As part of the Arts and Society leadership team the Head of School will foster a collaborative and collegial culture for their School across the University and with external partners in government industry and the community. About the Portfolio
The newly formed School of Humanities and Social Sciences is one of five academic units under Arts and Society alongside the Conservatorium of Music and the Schools of Creative and Performing Arts Education and Law. Together our Arts and Society schools provide world-class research and teaching through undergraduate and postgraduate programs with presence across three regions in lutruwita/Tasmania: South (Hobart) Northern (Launceston) and Cradle Coast (Burnie). Our graduates have made significant contributions to Tasmanias cultural and intellectual footprint and the University is highly regarded locally nationally and internationally. The School of Humanities and Social Sciences brings together disciplines essential to building knowledge and skills core to a well-functioning society that values critical thought creativity and ethical practice.
