Job Description

Are you an experienced facilities management leader looking for a rewarding opportunity in education We are seeking a Director of Facilities Operations to lead our partnership with Greenwich Academy a highly respected independent K12 school in Greenwich CT. This is a high-visibility leadership role where you will oversee all aspects of campus facilities management while supporting the Academys mission of excellence safety and care for its students faculty and historic campus.

This position offers a competitive salary relocation assistance a strong benefits package and the unique opportunity to live on campus in an apartment located above the facilities maintenance shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead coach and develop a skilled team of facilities maintenance and custodial professionals.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance custodial services capital projects and vendor management.
  • Partner with school leadership faculty and staff to deliver excellent service and maintain a safe welcoming learning environment.
  • Manage and optimize the operational budget ensuring cost-effective and sustainable facility solutions.
  • Utilize your expertise in mechanical systems and Building Automation Systems (Trane preferred) to troubleshoot and improve performance.
  • Support school events seasonal campus needs and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulatory and operational standards.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of leadership experience in Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) ideally in a school university or campus environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC plumbing electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Demonstrated ability to build lead and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets vendor contracts and facilities projects.
  • Willingness to live on campus (apartment provided above the facilities shop).
