Role Overview

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Licensing Manager to manage the companys licensing and compliance function specifically for the Sri Lankan market. You will be responsible for executing regulatory strategies securing necessary licenses maintaining existing approvals and ensuring operations remain audit-ready across all relevant jurisdictions within Sri Lanka. This role requires a solid understanding of Sri Lankan regulatory frameworks and a hands-on approach to managing licensing processes.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in licensing compliance or regulatory affairs within a regulated industry with a strong focus on the Sri Lankan market. Experience in the gaming sector is highly preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of Sri Lankan regulatory frameworks including gaming technical standards AML/CTF rules responsible-gaming frameworks and data-protection laws.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and processes simultaneously with strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely. Fluent English is mandatory; fluency in Sinhala and/or Tamil is a significant advantage.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external regulatory bodies in Sri Lanka.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret regulations and assess compliance requirements.
  • Proactive Approach: A proactive and diligent approach to identifying and addressing compliance needs.
  • A legal background or a degree in Law from Sri Lanka or a relevant qualification in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Direct experience with the gaming regulatory landscape in Sri Lanka.
  • Familiarity with local industry associations and stakeholders in Sri Lanka.

Responsibilities

  • Licensing Execution: Execute the licensing strategy for the Sri Lankan market; prepare and submit applications for new gaming licenses renewals or expansions of existing approvals in Sri Lanka.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor legislative and regulatory changes specific to Sri Lanka assess their potential impact on the company and contribute to briefing management on necessary adjustments and mitigation strategies within the Sri Lankan context.
  • Audit Support: Support and coordinate internal and external regulatory audits within Sri Lankan jurisdictions assisting in the preparation of documentation and ensuring timely remediation of any findings.
  • Regulator Liaison: Manage communications and build effective working relationships with Sri Lankan regulatory bodies responding to enquiries and assisting in discussions or negotiations regarding license conditions.
  • Technical Certification Coordination: Coordinate technical certification processes with gaming laboratories for Sri Lankan market requirements ensuring products and systems meet local standards.
  • Policy Implementation Support: Support the implementation and adherence to company-wide policies (AML KYC Responsible Gaming data protection advertising) specifically tailored to Sri Lankan legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on licensing status compliance posture and emerging risks relevant to Sri Lanka for internal stakeholders.
  • Internal Guidance: Assist in delivering internal training and guidance on regulatory obligations for product operations and marketing staff operating in Sri Lanka.
