Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Assistant Team Manager on a 3- Months contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 30.51- 41.00 per hour
Summary:
The Assistant Team Manager (ATM) will play a key role in supporting the Team Manager within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) ensuring effective delivery of safeguarding services for children and young people. The postholder will provide day-to-day management supervision and professional leadership to a team of social workers and support staff ensuring statutory duties are met and high-quality assessments and decision-making processes are in place.
The role will involve close partnership working with police health education and other agencies to ensure information sharing and effective multi-agency responses to safeguard children.
Responsibilities:
- Provide management oversight and decision-making on safeguarding referrals to ensure timely and proportionate responses.
- Support staff learning development and performance management in line with Council policies.
- Make defensible threshold decisions on safeguarding concerns in line with statutory guidance
- Promote effective multi-agency working and develop strong professional relationships across partner organisations.
- Support the Team Manager with data monitoring performance reporting and compliance with statutory timescales.
- Deputise for the Team Manager where required.
Essentials:
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised social work qualification
- Registration with Social Work England (SWE)

- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires an Enhanced DBS
