The Global Relay HR team provides top-notch services and support in enabling the execution of Global Relays business strategies while balancing employees individual goals and professional objectives.

About the role:

The HR Lead will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the UK and EMEA region while maintaining hands-on responsibility for their own portfolio of HR initiatives. This role will oversee a small HR team of approximately five professionals ensuring that HR programs and policies are implemented effectively and consistently. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to business leaders supporting a defined business unit while also driving broader regional HR strategies. The role will report directly to the HR Director UK & EMEA.

They work intimately with the Global Relay Leadership team on initiatives such as performance management career development compensation & benefits and recruitment.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing HR team providing guidance coaching and support to ensure operational excellence.
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 with team members and annual performance reviews.
  • Serve as the primary HR business partner for a defined business unit within EMEA taking ownership of all HR matters for that unit.
  • Drive end-to-end HR processes including talent management performance management workforce planning and employee engagement.
  • Provide hands-on support in areas such as recruitment onboarding employee relations and HR policy implementation.
  • Partner with regional and global HR colleagues to ensure data accuracy and integrity as well as consistency in HR programs and compliance with local employment laws.
  • Assist in HR compliance audits and prepare evidence.
  • Identify and implement initiatives that enhance employee experience and strengthen organizational culture across the region.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Support organizational change initiatives including recruitment promotions and succession planning.

About you:

  • 10 years of proven experience as a Senior HR business partner or HR lead ideally within a multi-country EMEA context.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a small team while maintaining hands-on operational involvement.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent detail orientation and tactfulness.
  • Experience in a variety of HR programs including performance management and employee engagement programs.
  • Ability to work independently prioritize competing demands and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • An understanding of immigration law and related processes would be beneficial to support our international recruitment and mobility needs.
  • CIPD desirable.
  • SaaS or Technology industry experience desirable
