Purpose of Job:
As a Reliability Engineer for Huber Engineered Materials you will play a key role in enhancing the reliability and performance of equipment and processes across our EMEA manufacturing sites. Leveraging your engineering expertise you will work on large rotating equipment milling drying and various packaging operations.
Working closely with Maintenance Engineering and Operations teams you will identify prioritize and implement improvement initiatives aimed at increasing reliability eliminating failures and reducing operational costs. This role offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact across multiple plants in the region.
Main Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with Operations Engineering and Maintenance teams to improve equipment availability and process reliability with a focus on reducing unplanned production losses.
- Lead engineering projects that deliver innovative practical solutions to increase equipment and process reliability.
- Work in partnership with area Maintenance to address reliability and maintainability challenges reduce costs and improve overall productivity.
- Provide technical support during plant outages and shutdowns.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to solve problems and eliminate operational risks.
- Drive and support reliability initiatives within your assigned area of responsibility.
- Analyze data from SAP reliability systems and production logs to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Lead and manage Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations to address recurring issues and prevent future failures.
- Conduct and oversee Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) on critical production assets.
- Offer reliability engineering input into capital projects to ensure long-term performance and maintainability.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across all levels of the plant organization with a strong focus on collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Facilitate and guide problem-solving teams in identifying designing and implementing effective reliability improvements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering is required; a degree in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of reliability engineering experience ideally within the chemical mining or a related industrial environment.
- Proven hands-on experience with rotating equipment such as pumps blowers roller mills ball mills and compressors.
- Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using recognized methodologies.
- Familiarity with asset management systems and experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance plans (Oracle preferred).
- Solid knowledge of common process equipment including pumps fans agitators motors valves and instrumentation.
- Basic understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
- Knowledge of predictive and diagnostic technologies for both rotating and fixed equipment.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing a diverse portfolio of projects independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of proficiency in English.
- Willingness and ability to work hands-on in the field with mechanics and operators as necessary in response to urgent critical equipment troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
