Job Description

Job Summary
The Director of the Cogdell Learning Center ( CLC ) provides strategic leadership and oversight of the CLCs operations programs and staff. This role involves managing personnel coordinating community-focused educational initiatives and fostering partnerships to support workforce development and economic empowerment. The Director ensures that the CLC functions as a welcoming high-impact resource for the surrounding neighborhoods which include the lowest-income census tract in Midland.

Essential Functions
Operational Oversight Manage daily operations of the CLC including facilities scheduling technology coordination building maintenance and staff workflows Ensure confidential records maintenance and a safe vibrant inclusive and service-oriented environment for all students staff and community members Personnel Management Provide direct supervision and support to assigned staff fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and professional growth Conduct evaluations delegate responsibilities and facilitate team-building initiatives Program & Services Coordination Coordinate delivery of various college programming at CLC Develop a one-stop community resource hub for academic advising financial aid assistance workforce training and college coursework at the CLC Support development of new offerings in alignment with community needs and college priorities Assist the Dean with program grant proposals and reporting Maintain the office calendar to coordinate workflows and meetings Student & Community Engagement Serve as a visible and accessible leader on-site to students staff and community partners Conduct presentations on and off campus Collaborate with multiple departments to increase neighborhood participation in advising workshops and outreach events Serve on committees and/or boards in the community including the CLC Advisory Council Data & Continuous Improvement Track enrollment participation satisfaction and success outcomes for CLC programs and initiatives Provide timely reports and recommendations to the Dean for CLC enhancement Mobile Consulates Coordination Help coordinate and provide support for the Mobile Consulates hosted at the Cogdell Learning Center during various weekends throughout the year Facilities Management Assist with inventory at Cogdell Submit and track work order requests Manage requests for paper copier and shredding vendors Perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission and objectives of the Cogdell Learning Center

Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for approximately 50% of the time Must occasionally move about or drive to various locations on and off campus Frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding and other tasks requiring manual dexterity Must be able to communicate effectively and exchange accurate information in both verbal and written forms Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus Occasionally lifts and moves materials or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds Work is primarily performed indoors in a standard office or college setting with occasional duties performed outdoors Must be able to travel for training meetings and events including both in-town and out-of-town travel Ability to work extended hours including some evenings and weekends and attend Midland College or community events as needed.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree Experience administering outreach programs to diverse populations Experience serving the needs of first-generation college students Bilingual in English and Spanish Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License good driving record and be insurable on Midland Colleges insurance policy

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree Communication and public relations skills Three years of supervisory experience
