COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION
Established in 2000 the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) offering full-time Sub-degree and Undergraduate Honours Degree programmes at both the HKBU Kowloon Tong and Shatin Shek Mun campuses. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE) one of the eight Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE alone currently enrolls about 4000 students and is committed to sustaining the Universitys mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the following position:
Senior Lecturer ()
The appointee is expected to provide academic leadership to quality assurance (QA) and enhancement processes to ensure quality development and delivery of academic programmes at sub-degree as well as undergraduate level of the College. Duties also include the oversight of new programme development assurance of teaching and learning quality as well as on-going review and enhancement of the Colleges QA mechanism with benchmarking against internal and external QA practices. The appointee is also expected to perform teaching duties in his/her academic area related to the academic disciplines under the College. The appointee is also expected to provide leadership to a number of committees.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in related disciplines. Applicants should have substantial experience in teaching and some years of experience in programme management at managerial/academic leadership level. Demonstration of collegiality and knowledge of quality assurance in higher education and academic regulations are essential for the post. Those who have work experience in academic programmes at different QF levels in self-financing tertiary institutions as well as continuous engagement in academic research are preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong analytical skills are required.
Reference salary range: Senior Lecturer : HK$69000 - HK$102000
The appointee will work on either/both the Kowloon Tong or/and Shatin Shek Mun campuses.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
