Workshop Engineering Supervisor (Workshop Management)

Our client is a prominent leader in the public transport sector operates a fleet of over 1700 buses and employs more than 5000 staff members serving over 1 million customers across the city. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Engineering Supervisor to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a skilled team responsible for overseeing regular inspections and repair activities across mechanical electrical and bodywork functions in the workshops.
  • Strategically drive continuous improvements in efficiency quality and turnaround times to uphold the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Monitor daily bus availability to meet operational requirements ensuring consistent fleet readiness.
  • Plan and oversee both preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of the companys bus fleet.
  • Supervise the annual regulatory inspection of the bus fleet ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and smooth execution.
  • Collaborate with bus manufacturers and parts suppliers adhering to recommended maintenance schedules and fostering strong cooperative relationships.
  • Promote a strong safety culture ensuring strict adherence to health and safety standards engineering regulations and company policies.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication within the team and across departments to ensure smooth and efficient collaboration.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements continuously improving engineering expertise and staying ahead of emerging trends.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of engineering documentation maintaining high standards of record-keeping.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Automotive Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in fleet management vehicle engineering or maintenance workshop operations.
  • Strong passion for fostering the development of others to improve overall team performance.
  • Proven leadership and organizational abilities with a track record of managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of local regulations including Road Traffic Ordinance type approval processes and fleet modification programs.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with government agencies internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
