Payment Poster Opportunity:
The Payment Poster plays a key role within the Revenue Cycle team by accurately posting and reconciling payments adjustments denials and refunds in the facilitys billing system. This role ensures financial accuracy and transparency in patient accounts while also supporting collections resolving unapplied balances and processing refunds and recoupments in accordance with payer policies and facility procedures. The position requires attention to detail familiarity with healthcare billing and collection processes and a commitment to compliance and timely follow-through.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The pay range for this role is $21.47 - $23.37 based on experience and education.
- This is a full-time on-site position working weekdays 8:00am 4:30pm.

What Qualifies You:
Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in payment posting billing revenue cycle or patient accounting within healthcare or related industries.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Familiarity with computer programs used for payment posting
- Billing knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Healthcare Administration Accounting or a related field.
What a Payment Poster does at NCHC:
- Post payments from insurance payers (EFT ERA paper checks) patients and other sources accurately and timely into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and billing systems.
- Monitor and work down unapplied payments by identifying appropriate accounts and applying funds accurately.
- Research unidentified payments.
- Apply contractual adjustments and denial codes in accordance with payer remittance advice and internal policies.
- Collaborate with billing and collections staff to ensure accurate payment application and support active accounts receivable follow-up and claim resolution.
- Identify overpayments and initiate refund requests to payers or patients.
- Process takebacks per payer guidance and maintain accurate records of refund activity.
- Report variances and discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all posting activities for audit compliance and reporting purposes.
- Work closely with Patient Finance Billing and Accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain a clean accounts receivable ledger.
- Ensure all posting activities are compliant with state and federal regulations including Medicaid Medicare and other payer requirements.
- Assist with training of new payment posting staff and contribute to continuous process improvement efforts.
- Maintains regular on-site attendance
