About This Role

The main aim of this position is to lead on selected CAE Defence and Security Strategy & BD and Capture activities. The focus will be in the Aerospace & Maritime Domain in Australia and New doing so be accountable for a portfolio of Business Development and Capture of Defence & Security opportunities in Defence Training Systems Integration and Mission and Operations Support.

The role we are offering you :

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND CAPTURE

Whilst we understand that Business Development and Capture Management are distinct roles CAE seeks the services of an individual that can transcend both skillsets

Build credible opportunity pipelines across both products and services with a clear route to contract

Secure order intake for services and product sales to meet / exceed regional and international targets.

Develop new services and drive new product offerings by identifying recommending and securingnew market opportunities and product applications

Lead capture and bid teams or liaise with appropriate staff to ensure capture planning and execution bid production processes and final submission meet time quality and solution specifications.

Shape client and market perspectives regarding CAE capability successfully.

Make actionable and insightful recommendations for new products extensions or enhancements.

Manage highest-level relationships in opportunity target organisations and CAE executive engagements.

Our ideal candidate has:

STRATEGY LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain strong relationships across the CAE D&S business units to ensure that ANZ can support in-service support for DCS and FMS opportunities in region.
  • Support the development and positioning of CAE capabilities to win opportunities within the ANZ D&S market.
  • Maintain intimate awareness of competitive market offerings and new technologies.
  • Identify and prioritise threats and opportunities for CAE across CAE ANZ target markets.
  • Maintain and enhance the Companys strategic position in the market by influencing customer procurement policy development and implementation through:
    • Developing and maintaining customer and end-user relationships;
    • Public relations and media campaigns; and
    • Stakeholder and political strategic analysis
    • Defined External communication plan
  • Support the M&A effort for CAE ANZ through identification qualification and business case development and execution of M&A targets.

Contribute to the overall leadership of the enterprise. Develop a high level of awareness of specific needs potential solutions and strategic stakeholders in assigned training services project.

CUSTOMER / TEAM / HEALTH and SAFETY

  • Maintain and enhance the Companys reputation with customers through regular contact with key customer and industry executives.
  • Provide direct in-country support to the Country Manager (ANZ) locally regionally and globally as required.
  • Build a strong trust based relationship with the VP Emerging Markets and other members of the D&S Business Development Team

Abide by CAE Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

- Bachelor Degree

- job related experience 5-8 years

  • Minimum 10 years pertinent general defence experience across operations training or support.
  • Able to hold an appropriate level of Australian/ New Zealand security classification
  • Experience operating at an executive / senior level (not necessarily in a BD or Sales/Marketing position)
  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical field or Business MBA
  • Sales/marketing experience especially related to the Defence domain
  • Experience of business Capture Manager for a major capital acquisition program
  • Led or participated in significant CASG (ASDEFCON) Defence Bids
  • Driven motivated positive high energy with outstanding influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong skills in strategic partnering teaming agreements and subcontract positioning.
  • Good communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Commercial and business acumen coupled with balanced negotiation capabilities.
  • Strong financial literacy leading financial model development estimating cost rollups and proactive risk management.

Location:

  • Location : Canberra Sydney Brisbane or Wellington
  • We operate a hybrid working approach.
  • Your role will involve some national and international travel

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
