Job Duties:

Working in a team environment the Office of Student Assistance and Support goal is student success. This position will work with all students and specialize in working with students from worn-torn countries and/or refugees. The Office of Student Assistance and Support responds to student crisis and assists them with resources/support.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Creates implements coordinates and monitors treatment plans to assist students/clients in meeting wellness goals
  • Documents all cases and accurately maintains records of cases discussed
  • Serves as primary resource and referral source for students/clients in dealing with a crisis and/or mental health issues
  • Outreach and support to refugee students and/or students from war torn countries
  • Prepares reports based on documented data as needed
  • Serve as a core member of Circle Corp. Committee through the International Division. Support refugee students connected to the program.
  • Assesses needs of students/clients and provides or recommends interdisciplinary care

The Office of Student Assistance and Support (OSAS) creates a culture of care on campus by connecting students to support student success on and community resources. The office assists with academic financial health family emergencies and other difficulties. The office supports ALL students including graduate & professional students. The office also consults with faculty staff parents and community members to help support overall student success.

OSAS is part of Student Affairs at the University of WisconsinMadison is led by the vice chancellor for student affairs. Our staff is dedicated to serving students and to helping them succeed in and out of the classroom in areas including health and well-being student sucess and belogning leadership and engagement and student advocacy. Student Affairs includes departments led by the dean of students; departments that provide identity-based spaces and leadership resources; the Wisconsin Union; University Health Services; and University Recreation and Wellbeing.

Compensation:

The expected minimum starting salary for this position is $58000.00 annually. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package including generous paid time off competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance tax-advantaged savings accounts and participation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund. 3 years of professional experience working with people in a case manager or assistance position. Experience working with refugees and/or international population.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working with university students on a college campus.

Education:

Bachelors Degree Required

Masters Degree Preferred
