Job Description

Job Title: Permanent Thoracic Surgeon in Columbus OH

Located within the vibrant city scene this established health system is seeking an experienced BC/BE Thoracic Surgeon to further develop a growing thoracic program. With state-of-the-art facilities including a DaVinci Xi robot and extensive support from a multi-disciplinary team this position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your career while providing quality care in a patient-centered environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a thoracic surgery program to meet community needs.
  • Perform both inpatient and outpatient procedures including all aspects of general thoracic surgery.
  • Participate in a collaborative surgical team with dedicated APP support.
  • Manage a mix of surgical cases and outpatient visits on a Monday to Friday schedule with weekend call rotation.
  • Work closely with a large referral base among the medical group and community partners.
  • Provide consultative hospital services and support for a multi-disciplinary tumor board.
  • Utilize EPIC for documentation and maintain a patient-centered team-based approach.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery (within 2 years of eligibility).
  • Fellowship-trained in Thoracic Surgery.
  • Clean malpractice and license history.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Active Ohio medical license (or willingness to obtain).
  • ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • DEA certification (or able to obtain).
