Job Description
Neonatologist Position Available in Harrisonburg VA
Pediatrix Medical Group is actively seeking a Board Certified Neonatologist to join our expanding practice at a Level 2 special care nursery located within the beautiful Shenandoah Valley at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a significant impact in the lives of newborns and their families.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee a 6-bed Level II special care nursery with 24-hour shifts and block scheduling.
- Maintain a flexible out-of-house call schedule with plans for service expansion.
- Collaborate with pediatric hospitalists and neonatologists to provide high-quality family-centered care.
- Work with available sub-specialty support.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement (CQI) and clinical research projects.
- Participate in knowledge exchange with thousands of Pediatrix providers across more than 400 NICUs.
- This role is open to commuters.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine - REQUIRED.
- Virginia medical license (or willingness to obtain) - REQUIRED.
- DEA certification (must be obtained prior to start) - REQUIRED.
- Experience in a Level II or higher nursery preferred.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must possess a Board Certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- Virginia medical license or demonstrate willingness to obtain one.
- DEA certification required prior to start date.
