Job Description
Medical Director - Neonatology
Join a prestigious team of neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners at a regional perinatal center located in the scenic Roanoke VA. Job Responsibilities
- Provide expert neonatal care at a 60-bed regional perinatal center and a 6-bed Level 2 NICU.
- Manage and lead NICU operations as Medical Director or serve as Associate Medical Director ensuring high-quality clinical care.
- Oversee advanced NICU services including high-frequency ventilation and whole-body cooling.
- Collaborate with pediatric and maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists.
- Support medical education for medical students and residents.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
- Provide clinical coverage including on-call and weekend duties.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and participate in leadership meetings.
- This is a permanent full-time position requiring residency in the local area.
- Accepting visa candidates (J-1 visa sponsorship available).
Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatology (required).
- Neonatal leadership experience preferred for Medical Director role.
- Clean malpractice and medical license history highly preferred.
- Willingness to relocate if not currently residing in the area.
- DEA license (must be obtained prior to start).
License and Certification Requirements
- Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain.
- Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) Neonatologist.
