Permanent Position: Medical Director - Geriatric Medicine
Location: Mishawaka Indiana
Join a compassionate community-focused Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) as the Medical Director in Mishawaka Indiana. This role offers an incredible opportunity for a Board Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with specialized training or qualifications in Geriatric Medicine.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide general medical direction and supervision of participant care.
- Oversee clinical outcomes and the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Develop and maintain medical policies procedures and standards.
- Provide direction to Primary Care Providers and Advanced Practice Professionals.
- Lead and guide program colleagues and community providers.
- Conduct history and physical exams on new participants and develop treatment plans.
- Engage with participants and their caregivers about medical conditions and future care plans.
- Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Educate participants and families about health maintenance and chronic conditions.
- Supervise the healthcare and treatment program created by the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in provider on-call rotation as required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with the frail or elderly population is required.
- A willingness to travel within the region as needed.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine - REQUIRED
- Board Certified in Geriatrics or Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine - HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Valid Indiana medical license or willingness to obtain - REQUIRED
- Clean malpractice history - HIGHLY PREFERRED
- CDS Certification - REQUIRED
- DEA Verbal Confirmation - REQUIRED
- BLS Certification - REQUIRED
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with the elderly population - REQUIRED
- Previous supervisory experience - REQUIRED
Licenses and Certification Requirements:
- Indiana medical license (or willingness to obtain)
- BLS Certification (required by time of start)
- CDS Certification (required by time of start)
- DEA verification (required by time of start)
