Job Description

Job Opportunity: Medical Director - Geriatric Medicine

Join our dedicated team in sunny Pensacola Florida! We are seeking a Medical Director to oversee our Geriatric Medicine program which is designed to support seniors with chronic care needs while promoting independence and dignity. As part of a comprehensive Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality medical and supportive services to our participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop customized medical treatment plans.
  • Interview and evaluate applicants alongside their caregivers for the program.
  • Discuss medical conditions and care plans with participants and their families.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to enhance participant care.
  • Educate participants and families about health maintenance and chronic conditions.
  • Supervise the healthcare program developed by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Perform physical examinations and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Participate in team and family conferences to support decision-making processes.
  • Engage actively in the provider on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Current and active plenary physician license to practice in Florida - REQUIRED
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice - REQUIRED; Board Certification in Geriatrics is preferred.
  • Experience or added qualifications in geriatrics - Preferred
  • Current DEA Registration - REQUIRED
  • Previous supervisory experience - REQUIRED
  • Minimum of one year of documented experience with a frail or elderly population.
  • Strong skills in physical assessment and chronic disease management for older adults.
  • Desire to work in an innovative alternate healthcare setting.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities based on participant needs.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Active Florida Physician License
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • DEA Registration
