Job Description
Locum General Surgeon Opportunity in Paducah KY
Join a dedicated team at a well-respected hospital in Paducah Kentucky as a General Surgeon. This facility offers comprehensive care and serves a diverse patient population.
The general surgeon will provide on-call support for the emergency department and manage general surgery consults. This is a hospital-based position with limited after-hours clinic support and may involve care of ICU patients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide coverage on a one week per month basis starting Q4 of this year.
- Take calls from the emergency department and handle hospital general surgery consults.
- Participate in 24-hour EMTALA call coverage (7am - 7am).
- Conduct an average of 1-3 surgical cases per day along with 2-4 consults.
- Engage in procedures including general surgical cases trauma care and specialized surgical interventions.
- Collaborate with a well-rounded OR staff including CSTs and RNFAs.
- Utilize EPIC as the electronic medical record system.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Surgery (ABoS) - REQUIRED
- Active Kentucky medical license - REQUIRED (IMLC licensed providers accepted)
- COVID-19 Vaccination - Preferred; must be completed by time of credentialing
- Clean background preferred.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active KY State License
- Board Certification
